Carol Kinsel, Owner of Senior Care Solutions, has been working with seniors and their families dealing with placement and relocation for the past 8 years. Her personal experience as caregiver for her father with Alzheimer’s disease has given her the passion for the problems the elderly deal with as they age as well as the emotional issues involving families and placement decisions. A graduate of California State University at Sacramento, Carol left her career as a Dental Hygienist to help people navigate through the various care options.
“I did everything wrong when finding care options for my father which is the basis for the importance of educating families as they make these difficult decisions.” Listening, Caring and guidance is truly the specialty of Senior Care Solutions.
Gail Arno joined Senior Care Solutions over six years ago hoping simply to guide the wonderful members of a generation that was aging before her eyes to resources and options available to them. Gail went back to school focusing on the study of gerontology, case management and facility administration while working with hundreds of seniors and family members. Gail is a certified case manager, certified gerontologist and licensed administrator for California Residential Care Facilities for the elderly.
“I can honestly say that it has been the most rewarding, comforting, periodically frustrating, wonderful, fulfilling experience of my life. Helping, listening, caring, thinking, creating and supporting my clients have allowed me to grow and those I have touched the ability to make informed decisions regarding their futures that have brought peace of mind and comfort to our hearts. It is a pleasure and an honor to do the work I do-how often do we hear that in the course of our work day?”
Rita Haggerty joined the Senior Care Solutions team in 2002. She has a BS in Gerontology from California State University of Sacramento and is a licensed C.N.A. Her strengths include listening, access to necessary resources and follow through. Each call or contact that Rita has is treated with personal care. Every senior, and their family, has a story and a need. To make a difference in a family’s life while they are in the midst of major decision-making is Rita’s desire.
““Every senior and their family has a story and a need. It is my goal to make a difference in each family’s life while they are in the midst of major decision-making situations.”
Susan Nichols began working for Senior Care Solutions in February 2001. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and received a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from CSUS in 2001. Her interest in seniors began at an early age and increased naturally as her parents and mother-in-law have aged. This interest prompted her to enroll in the CSUS gerontology program to learn more about the senior population to be able to assist them in finding appropriate care. Susan lives in El Dorado County and has done volunteer work with seniors at the El Dorado County Senior Day Care Center in Placerville.
“My interest in seniors began at an early age and naturally increased as my parents and mother-in-law have aged. Realizing that care decisions must often be made in times of crisis, it is my desire to provide families with accurate information and a compassionate listening ear as they seek to make appropriate choices for their loved one’s care.”
